Job summary

Elevance Health is seeking a Medical Director (US) to oversee medical services for national accounts, in a virtual, full-time capacity with mandatory in-person training sessions. Alternate locations may be considered.

The role requires an MD/DO with board certification and an active medical license, plus a minimum of 10 years of clinical experience. You will lead utilization management and clinical operations to drive quality and cost improvements.

Qualifications

• MD/DO with active unrestricted medical license and board certification.
• Minimum of 10 years of clinical experience or equivalent.
• Experience in health plans or hospital-based utilization review preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee utilization management and support care management nursing staff.
• Provide guidance for clinical operational aspects for national client(s).
• Conduct peer-to-peer clinical reviews with attending physicians to discuss determinations.
• Identify opportunities to improve quality, cost and outcomes.
