Job summary

Archesys, a technology firm delivering cloud solutions for the public sector, is seeking a Backend-leaning Ruby on Rails Engineer to build core payment and accounting integrations for a greenfield Rails application. You will work on employer premium payments via ACH, refunds, and beneficiary payments with external systems like NetSuite.

Qualifications

• Significant Rails backend experience in a production environment (5+ years).
• Experience building data integrations with financial/accounting systems (NetSuite a plus).
• Proficiency with ACH payments, refunds, and vendor/beneficiary payments.
• Strong understanding of MVC, RESTful services, and ActiveRecord ORM.
• Experience with testing: unit and integration tests (RSpec or Minitest).
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (JIRA/Confluence).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend integrations with external financial systems (e.g., NetSuite).
• Develop foundational payment workflows, including ACH employer payments and refunds.
• Write clean, maintainable code following OOP/SOLID principles and participate in code reviews.
• Contribute to backend foundations for a greenfield Rails app and data flow into accounting platforms.
• Mentor junior developers and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a remote setting.
