Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Radiology Scheduling Specialist, Associate to deliver world-class patient service and accurate scheduling. The role may be based at the Quantum One Building in South Side Pittsburgh or Erie, with a transition to work-from-home after the orientation period.

You will manage inbound/outbound calls, verify demographics/insurance, and maintain data integrity while supporting physicians and staff across imaging modalities. Training supports growth and patient-focused outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1 year of general customer service experience.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities; professional demeanor.
• Training and certification as a Patient Ambassador is required prior to or during the initial six-month review.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients; answer additional phone lines; obtain prescriptions for procedures when needed.
• Adhere to scheduling guidelines; gather required exam information and convey restrictions.
• Enter data into the computer and process requisitions; ensure data accuracy.
• Operate multi-line phone system and RIS; follow radiology scheduling formats.
• Enter information into RIS; complete forms; verify and update patient records.
• Review imaging resources daily for open slots and potential scheduling errors.
• Assist patients with MyUPMC access and telemedicine issues.
• Schedule exams accurately for all radiology modalities; ensure correct physician and timeslot.
