Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or GED with 2 years coding experience substituted.
• CPC/CCA/CCS-P certification required; radiology certification preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of radiology coding experience.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and payer policies; coding compliance.
• Proficiency in CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10; strong documentation review skills.
• Experience with revenue cycle systems and claim submission.

Responsibilities

• Assigns diagnosis and procedure codes to professional billing encounters per documentation and guidelines.
• Codes moderately complex radiology cases with multiple diagnoses or complex notes.
• Review work queues in coding and revenue cycle systems; resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with providers to clarify documentation for accurate coding and billing.
• Participate in coding quality assurance and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Core focus: CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS in a physician-based environment for appropriate reimbursement.
