Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks an Emergency Management Specialist to support statewide radiological emergency planning and coordination efforts. You will help counties, municipalities, and partner agencies maintain strong response capabilities and meet federal standards, with telework options after training.

You will review plans, coordinate training, and guide local and state partners in meeting emergency response requirements while supporting grants and readiness reviews.

Qualifications

• Completion of the Emergency Management Trainee program or equivalent.
• Two years of professional emergency management experience with a bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination.
• One year of professional experience in emergency management in government, industry, education, or military.

Responsibilities

• Plan evaluation of radiological emergency plans for compliance.
• Interpret federal regulations and guidance for emergency procedures.
• Assist in developing, conducting, and evaluating plume, ingestion, and recovery exercises.
• Coordinate communication between state agencies, nuclear utilities, and EOC facilities.
• Review and coordinate public safety information related to nuclear incidents.
• Support Act 31 grant activities, readiness reviews, and emergency funding processes.
