Cherry Bekaert LLP is seeking an R&D Senior Associate to deliver tax consulting on Research and Development Tax Credits and related capitalization rules. The role supports clients via hybrid work from US offices or fully remote within the United States.

You will conduct technical interviews, review documentation, scope credits, and create cost models to quantify credits and capitalization amounts while collaborating with various industries.

Qualifications

• Experience with IRC Section 41 research credits.
• Background in software development, consulting, or engineering preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering/IS/Accounting or Finance.

Responsibilities

• Provide tax consulting services related to the R&D Tax Credit and IRC 174 capitalization rules.
• Interview technical details to determine qualifying activities under Section 41.
• Draft project narratives documenting how client projects meet guidelines.
• Scope R&D Tax Credit studies and perform tax technical research for clients.
• Create and update costing models to track expenditures and credits.
• Assess employer time tracking value and integration into projects.
