Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories seeks an Intern Year Round - R&D Undergrad to explore radiation effects in electronics and materials. You may develop or use TCAD and Spice simulations and collaborate with a team to design experiments and analyze results.

Selected candidates will be mentored by Sandia scientists and engineers, with seminars and opportunities to present findings. Remote work is possible from any U.S. state, with occasional travel to the work location included.

Qualifications

• Currently attending and enrolled full time in an accredited undergraduate program.
• Pursuing a science, engineering, or math major
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
• Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
• Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship

Responsibilities

• Investigate radiation effects in electronics and/or the interaction of radiation with materials.
• Develop or use TCAD and Spice circuit simulations to better understand single event, total ionizing dose, displacement damage, or dose rate effects on electronics and materials.
• Team with other specialists, to design experiments, analyze results, and to present new insights or observations.
