SME Careers is seeking a Life & Environmental Sciences QA Lead for a remote, hourly contractor role. You will oversee QA across biology, ecology, and environmental science training projects, reviewing AI-generated content and trainer work to ensure adherence to project rubrics and quality standards.

Responsibilities include quality monitoring, scientific review, trainer communication, onboarding, and documentation.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD or equivalent professional experience in biology or related life sciences field.
3+ years of experience in life science research or related scientific workflows.
Strong written and verbal English for feedback and communication.
Experience coordinating remote researchers or QA teams is preferred.
Experience with AI training data review or rubric-based review is a plus.

Responsibilities

Quality monitoring: spot-check life and environmental science items and provide ongoing feedback.
Scientific review: evaluate accuracy and rigor of biology, ecology, and environmental science explanations.
Trainer/QA communication: update trainers on new guidelines and project changes on Discord.
Question handling: respond to trainer/QA questions clearly and promptly.
Onboarding and training: schedule and run onboarding/training for trainers and QAs.
