Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a QA Automation Lead to develop and maintain automated testing solutions for UI, APIs, integrations, and data. You will collaborate with engineering and delivery teams to improve product quality, investigate defects, and embed automated testing in CI/CD pipelines.

The role emphasizes Java-based automation with Selenium WebDriver and REST Assured, API testing, SQL data checks, and Agile delivery.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in quality assurance, software testing, and test automation.
• Proficiency in Java, Selenium WebDriver, and REST Assured.
• Experience testing REST APIs, including working with HTTP methods and JSON payloads.
• Experience with database testing using SQL or other database-testing tools.
• Working knowledge of a Java testing framework such as JUnit or TestNG.
• Experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Git and version-control practices.
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute UI and API automation test suites using Java, Selenium WebDriver, and REST Assured.
• Create comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, and test cases based on business and technical requirements.
• Validate application functionality, system integrations, APIs, and data across multiple testing stages.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing practices.
• Investigate defects, analyze test results, and collaborate with engineering teams to drive issues through resolution.
