Illumen Group is seeking a Python Developer to modernize federal statistical systems by building a data editing tool. The role is fully remote with occasional in-person meetings in Bethesda, MD, requiring clear communication in a distributed team.

You will develop APIs with Python and FastAPI, craft front-end components in Vue, and work with Oracle and PostgreSQL databases while collaborating with analysts and senior staff in an Agile setting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Python development experience.
• Experience with FastAPI.
• Experience with Vue.
• Experience with Oracle and/or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Java.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Effective communication and reliability in a fully remote environment.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen due to federal contract security requirements.

Responsabilités

• Develop a custom editing tool to support micro and macro data edits, imputation, and data analysis for respondent-submitted responses.
• Support the transition of survey processing from legacy systems to the new tool.
• Develop backend services and APIs using Python and FastAPI.
• Build front-end components using Vue.
• Work with Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
• Collaborate with analysts and senior staff to understand editing and imputation processes.
• Participate in Agile rituals, code reviews, and design discussions, and maintain clear communication in a remote environment.
