Job summary

Novakid is an online English school for kids, seeking a backend-focused engineer to own the server-side of the funnel—registration, booking, and visitor accounts. The role is 70% backend (Python, some Node.js) and 30% frontend (React/TypeScript). You’ll own APIs, attribution, and server-side integrations with ad platforms.

You’ll work end-to-end within the squad's processes: planning, grooming, code reviews, sprints, and releases. Fully remote with a dynamic, product-minded team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production backend development in Python, with owned services.
• Strong fundamentals: API design, SQL, caching, background jobs, and API integration.
• Experience debugging production issues and monitoring.
• Ability to read and modify a Node.js Express service.
• Frontend basics in TypeScript and React to deliver end-to-end features.
• Understanding of tracking data flow from click to report.
• Product-minded with metrics-driven approach.
• Fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Python services behind registration, booking, and visitor accounts.
• Build server-side integrations with ad platforms (Meta CAPI, TikTok Events API).
• Own backend attribution: visit tracking, UTM persistence, data gaps.
• Keep services fast with caching and query optimization; SSR in Node/Express.
• Investigate incidents via Sentry and drive to resolution.
• Support A/B tests with feature flags and rollouts on server side.
• Ship frontend changes in React/TypeScript when required.
