Job summary

Primetag is seeking a full-time backend engineer for a fully remote role. You will build and maintain backend services and data pipelines in Python and FastAPI, within a microservices framework.

Emphasis on performance, cost efficiency, documentation, testing, and observability drives production-grade work. You will design APIs, evolve microservices, and contribute to platform components while reducing technical debt.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering experience focused on Python backend development.
• Hands-on experience with Django DRF, Flask, or FastAPI.
• Strong REST API design, software design patterns, and clean architecture.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and production Kubernetes.
• Working knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, observability, and event-driven messaging (RabbitMQ or Kafka).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs using Python and FastAPI.
• Maintain and evolve core microservices, databases, and platform components.
• Build and improve data ingestion and crawling pipelines.
• Keep the platform scalable, reliable, and maintainable as load grows.
• Contribute to shared platform building blocks and engineering guidelines.
• Refactor systems, reduce technical debt, and improve observability.
• Debug production issues and assist in incident resolution.
