Job summary

Adastra Corporation is seeking a Software Engineer (Application Developer) to advance cloud-based applications with a focus on backend Python development. You will build and integrate REST APIs, configure cloud functions, and manage JSON data across workflows, while contributing to frontend enhancements and AI-enabled features.

The role collaborates across product and engineering teams in a fully remote setup, emphasizing code quality, testing, and scalable architectures in a modern cloud

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in Python application development.
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
• Experience with HTML and modern web application development.
• Experience with React or similar JavaScript frameworks.
• Familiarity with Azure cloud services, including Azure Functions, Blob Storage, and Cosmos DB.
• Experience working with cloud service SDKs and APIs.
• Strong understanding of JSON data structures and data transformation techniques.
• Knowledge of software testing methodologies, including unit testing.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Familiarity with code quality tools, linting processes, and software development best practices.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, agile development environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend application components using Python.
• Build, integrate, and maintain REST APIs and cloud-based services.
• Configure and support cloud functions and data storage solutions.
• Process, transform, and manage JSON data across application workflows.
• Implement integrations with AI-powered and data-driven services.
• Contribute to frontend enhancements, including UI updates and new features.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Develop and execute unit tests to support application quality and reliability.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Follow coding standards, linting requirements, and software development best practices.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to deliver technical solutions.
