Job summary

The Department of Public Instruction (DPI) in Wisconsin is seeking a Limited Term Employment Public Health Nutritionist to support school nutrition programs across the state. This role provides technical expertise, training, and guidance to school nutrition professionals, helping districts conduct menu analyses and ensure compliance with federal nutrition standards.

Qualifications

• Experience or education related to at least one USDA Child Nutrition Program.
• Experience in food service or nutrition-related work.
• Experience providing training on nutrition topics.
• Eligible for or holds CD in Wisconsin and/or Registered Dietitian.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nutrient analyses and review school menus for USDA compliance.
• Evaluate nutrition programs via administrative reviews and recommend improvements.
• Deliver trainings and technical assistance to nutrition professionals.
• Develop educational resources and guidance documents for program implementation.
• Collaborate with schools, grant recipients, and internal teams on nutrition initiatives.
• Support statewide programs through grant activities, web content, newsletters, and other initiatives.
