Job summary

CDC Foundation seeks a full-time Public Health Analyst to support the Overdose Response Strategy (ORS) in Maine. You will help develop information sharing systems and evidence-based prevention programs with MIAC and regional partners, traveling to meetings as needed.

The role requires a Master’s or higher in public health or related field, strong data analysis and communication skills, and the ability to work remotely with periodic travel in Maine and beyond.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in public health or related field with minimum one year of relevant experience; or Bachelor’s with minimum three years; or higher.
  • Experience in substance use disorder treatment, drug policy and public health/public safety partnerships is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including public-speaking and presentations.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams with diverse partners including law enforcement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with state public health infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate data sharing and joint initiatives between public health and public safety agencies to address illicit drug use and overdose.
  • Collaborate with the DIO to build partnerships between local HIDTA programs and public health entities.
  • Identify and promote overdose prevention interventions at the intersection of public health and public safety.
  • Support and evaluate public safety-led interventions to connect at-risk individuals to care and treatment.
