Job summary

Slate Health Solutions is seeking an experienced Provider Enrollment & Credentialing Specialist to assist healthcare providers with enrollment and credentialing across the U.S. This remote role requires independence and a solid understanding of the Medicaid enrollment process.

The position focuses on applying for NPIs, completing Medicaid enrollment across multiple states, navigating state portals, and tracking applications to completion.

Qualifications

• 1+ year in provider enrollment or credentialing.
• Direct Medicaid enrollment experience required.
• Experience with Medicaid in multiple states preferred.
• Familiarity with individual/organizational NPI applications.
• Experience with PECOS, CAQH and commercial insurance credentialing is a plus.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Provider Enrollment & Credentialing Specialist to assist healthcare providers and organizations with enrollment and credentialing across the U.S.

This is a remote position for someone who already understands the enrollment process and can independently manage applications from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Apply for and update Individual and Organizational NPI numbers (Type 1 & Type 2)
• Complete Medicaid provider enrollment, revalidation and updates across multiple states
• Navigate state Medicaid portals and enrollment systems
• Track applications and follow up with Medicaid agencies and other payers until completion
• Troubleshoot enrollment issues, deficiencies and requests for additional information
• Maintain organized records and provide clear application status updates

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of hands‑on provider enrollment or credentialing experience
• Direct experience with Medicaid enrollment required
• Experience working with Medicaid programs in multiple states strongly preferred
• Familiarity with individual and organizational NPI applications
• Experience with PECOS, CAQH and commercial insurance credentialing is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through
• Comfortable communicating with providers, government agencies and insurance companies
• Able to work independently in a remote environment
