Job summary

Plume is hiring a Protocol Engineer to build end-to-end blockchain features and optimize network performance. You will work across the crypto/DeFi stack, from backend services to on-chain interactions, ensuring secure and scalable operation.

The ideal candidate has experience with distributed systems, web3 tooling, and a CS/engineering degree or equivalent. This remote role offers a competitive equity grant and comprehensive US benefits, with an optional NYC office.

Qualifications

Experience designing and operating distributed systems or related platforms.
Background in blockchain/DeFi or web3 ecosystems is a plus.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills in fast-paced contexts.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain core blockchain network software powering validators and full nodes.
Tackle unique declarative trading and vertical solutions with robust architecture.
Engage across backend, on-chain swaps, and frontend Web3 UX for seamless integration.
Lead feature design to be scalable, secure, and efficient.
Stay current with protocol design and communication tech advances.
