Job summary

E Tech Group seeks a Proposal and Estimating Engineer to develop proposals and estimates for industrial automation projects across Consumer Products, Food & Beverage, Life Sciences, and Material Handling sectors. You’ll work with project managers to refine estimates and convert them into compelling proposals.

Responsibilities include reviewing RFPs, engineering drawings, and specifications; calculating labor, material, and travel costs; and maintaining cost databases while advancing standardized

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of Industrial Automation experience in design, controls, programming, and electrical engineering.
• Extensive experience with estimating methods, tools, and proposal management standards.
• Strong Excel/spreadsheet experience and knowledge of ERP/costing systems.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs, and RFP/RFQ docs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work for estimation by reviewing RFPs, drawings, specs, and related documents.
• Meet customers to review technical scope and engineering requirements.
• Develop estimates by identifying labor, materials, travel, and time needs.
• Compute costs by analyzing labor, materials, and time requirements.
• Refine estimates with E Tech engineers and project managers.
• Present estimates by assembling numerical and descriptive information.
• Create proposal documents with scope, deliverables, schedule, risk, and clarifications.
• Maintain cost databases and back up data; prepare trend reports.
