Job summary

Erie Insurance seeks a remote Property Claims Adjuster I based in Indiana, preferably Marion County or surrounding areas, with the ability to investigate, set reserves, and settle claims in a timely manner. The role requires strong time management, analytical skills, and the willingness to travel as needed for site visits.

You'll work from home with a company car provided, collaborate with agents and sales managers, and participate in catastrophe teams when required.

Qualifications

• Minimum educational requirements: High School Diploma or GED with five years of claims handling experience, or Bachelor’s Degree with two years of claims handling experience.
• Incumbent must live in territory assigned unless a change is approved by the company.
• Willingness to obtain and maintain required licenses; Associate in Claims (AIC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations, interviews, and inspects damage; drive to site within assigned territory.
• Set and maintain reserves; review reports; determine coverage and claim value; negotiate with plaintiff attorneys when necessary.
• Document claim files and submit closure reports.
• Recognize subrogation situations and initiate appropriate action.
• Service assigned territory and bring assigned claims to conclusion.
• Interact with Agents and district sales managers on mutual concerns.
