Job summary

West Bend Mutual Insurance Company is seeking an experienced property claims professional to handle complex CL & PL claims in the Cedar Rapids area with minimal supervision. The role is fully remote with 50% field time and occasional travel to office locations for meetings, training and events.

You must currently reside in the Cedar Rapids/Waterloo/Mason City area to be considered. You will use current claims technology, research and determine coverage, investigate damages, negotiate

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance or related field.
• Associate in Claims designation.
• Associate in General Insurance designation.
• CPCU coursework or other continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Handle complex CL & PL property claims with minimal supervision and guidance from the manager.
• Research and formulate a basis on which coverage decisions will be made; conduct investigations, evaluate damages and liability.
• Negotiate settlements with insureds, claimants and attorneys; supervise litigated files as needed.
• Mentor teammates and ensure adherence to audit guidelines.
