Job summary

Salas O’Brien, Inc. in New York City seeks a project manager to lead technical staff and manage schedule, budget, and scope on architectural/engineering/construction projects. The role focuses on reducing risk and guiding feasibility studies and design efforts, with remote work flexibility.

Work occurs in NYC with occasional site visits. Ideal candidates have 5–7 years of technical PM experience and a BS in a relevant field, plus strong planning and communication skills.

Qualifications

• ABET accredited Bachelor of Science degree.
• 5–7 years technical experience in architecture/engineering/construction.
• 3–5 years project management experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Project, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Basic proficiency with Bluebeam, SharePoint, CAD and Revit.

Responsibilities

• Receive and review project requirements and clarify conflicts.
• Plan activities, costs and schedules based on team input and scopes.
• Support proposal development for scope and deliverables.
• Initiate projects with stakeholders and establish baselines.
• Lead the project team to deliver within budget and on time.
• Manage project meetings and document minutes.
• Generate reports using company software tools.
• Develop and maintain project schedules with team leads.
• Ensure quality control meets standards throughout the project.
• Control scope and coordinate changes with management and clients.
• Closeout projects with complete deliverables and documentation.
• Track lessons learned and drive process improvements.
• Support new business development opportunities.
• Communicate project status with office management.
• Promote and represent the firm professionally.
• Supervise and provide performance feedback to peers.
