Job summary

RINA is seeking a Project Engineer focused on Highway / Roadway design to join our Civil Engineering Division in Cleveland or Columbus, Ohio.

Remote work options are available. The qualified candidate will have an Ohio PE and 4+ years of roadway design experience, and will support planning, calculations, and detailed drawings for state and local agencies.

This role offers cross-functional collaboration, client liaison, and potential travel to project sites as required.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
• 4+ years of experience in design engineering, preferably on ODOT or other roadway transportation projects.
• Professional Engineering License (PE) in Ohio.
• Proficiency in MicroStation Open Roads Design.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and coordinate with others on larger, multidiscipline projects.
• Proficiency in standard engineering procedures and project management methodologies and techniques.
• Working knowledge of computer-aided design software and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering (AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Designs, CAD drawings, and specifications on assigned projects under the guidance of the Project Manager.
• Collaborates with engineers, designers, drafters, and other departments to ensure effective communication.
• Coordinates with project team members, staff engineers, and external clients.
• Delivers drawings and project responsibilities within scope, budget, and schedule.
• Reviews drawings for completeness, accuracy, and constructability.
• Develops conceptual and basic engineering documents including studies, criteria, and equipment specs.
• Uses CAD/engineering software to perform tasks and supports safety procedures.
