Job summary

Blue Star Families is seeking a Program Director for the Coastal Carolina Chapter to drive programs, membership engagement, and fundraising efforts. You will report to the Chapter Executive Director with a dotted line to the Senior Director of Chapter Relations, and work largely in a remote setting with periodic travel.

The role emphasizes program execution, fundraising leadership, volunteer management, and working with local partners to support military families.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4-5 years of relevant nonprofit management experience.
• Independent self-starter with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of the military family experience.
• Volunteer recruitment and management experience.
• Business development and fundraising experience.
• Experienced in public speaking.
• Excellent writing skills.
• Ability to facilitate meetings and drive toward decision-making.
• Project management experience; proficient with technology.
• Travel requirements up to 25% or less; occasional evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Manage programs and events for the local chapter aligned to funding opportunities to maximize impact and sustainability.
• Develop and support local fundraising efforts; lead campaigns and steward donors.
• Build local collaborations with private, public, and philanthropic organizations.
• Support local advocacy and other initiatives essential to chapter success.
• Coordinate volunteers, fellows, and interns; manage project calendars and tools.
