Job summary

Defcon AI is hiring a Program Contracts Manager to own contract operations, subcontract administration, milestone tracking, and invoice readiness for a major US defense program. You will design scalable processes, templates, and governance to keep contracts, deliverables, and payments aligned with program goals.

You will lead the end-to-end contract lifecycle, draft and negotiate subcontract terms, manage risk, and partner with program leadership and finance to support execution while operating

Qualifications

• Experience administering and negotiating contracts and subcontracts in a U.S. defense contracting environment
• Experience drafting, redlining, and negotiating contract language
• Experience translating prime contract requirements into subcontract flow-downs
• Experience supporting milestone-based deliverables and contract execution
• Ability to operate independently within a matrixed organization
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity and evolving program requirements

Responsibilities

• Own Contract & Subcontract Operations lifecycle and governance
• Draft, review, negotiate, and administer subcontract agreements and modifications
• Maintain subcontract records, deliverables, milestones, and terms
• Coordinate with program leadership and finance on positions and negotiations
• Develop milestone tracking and contract execution artifacts
• Coordinate acceptance-package development across stakeholders
• Build invoice-support packages and readiness documentation
• Identify and flag contractual risks before issues arise
• Maintain audit-ready records and submission documentation
