Job summary

FutureProof Technologies, a climate-smart property insurer, seeks a versatile software engineer to design and ship APIs, iterate quickly from rough ideas, and collaborate with the insurance product team.

You'll work primarily in Rust on the backend and TypeScript on the frontend, run on Google Cloud, and leverage coding agents to extend capabilities. This remote role can be done from anywhere in the United States.

Qualifications

• Experience designing APIs used by internal and external users.
• Experience shipping software end-to-end with quick iteration.
• Experience using coding agents to extend capabilities.
• Experience in cloud environments (Google Cloud preferred).
• Experience handling sensitive data securely in regulated environments.
• Strong communication translating tech to business terms.
• Ability to make technical decisions and drive initiatives to completion.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship APIs used by employees, partners, and the public.
• Turn rough ideas into working software, iterating quickly.
• Collaborate with insurance product team to clarify requirements.
• Ensure systems are well-tested as they evolve.
• Follow security best practices to protect customer data.
• Monitor and debug production systems to ensure expected behavior.
