Job summary

Washington State Department of Health is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead the agency's procurement program, guiding policy and practice across departments. This home-based role requires advancing compliant, equitable procurements while mentoring a nine-person team of procurement specialists.

You will collaborate with fiscal staff, program leadership and executives to ensure efficient procurement outcomes and continuous improvement in public health services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or higher in business/public administration or related field with five+ years of procurement consultation experience
• Or eight+ years of procurement consultation experience
• Experience presenting findings to executive-level audiences
• Three years as a manager or supervisor in a large-scale procurement function

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the agency's procurement program.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
• Develop and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Manage and develop a nine-person procurement team.
• Collaborate with fiscal staff, contract managers, program leadership, and executive management to support procurement outcomes.
