Job summary

Eis Group USA is seeking a highly organized Processing Archivist on a full-time contract to manage archival collections, preserve records, and improve access both physically and digitally. You will create finding aids, maintain metadata, support digitization, and collaborate with library staff and researchers while meeting deadlines in a hybrid/remote setup.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in archival studies and 2–3 years of related experience, with strong research and communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in archival-related field.
• 2–3 years of archival processing or records management experience.
• Knowledge of arrangement, description, and preservation.
• Experience maintaining inventories and finding aids.

Responsibilities

• Receive, evaluate, and organize archival materials, historical documents, manuscripts, and records.
• Arrange and describe collections according to archival standards.
• Create and maintain finding aids, inventories, catalog records, and descriptions.
• Assess preservation requirements and ensure proper storage.
• Maintain accurate collection databases, metadata, and processing documentation.
• Support digitization projects by preparing materials and verifying digital records.
• Identify missing information and inconsistencies in archival documentation.
• Collaborate with library staff, researchers, records managers, and stakeholders.
• Retrieve and prepare archival materials for authorized research and references.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow access policies.
• Monitor processing schedules and meet deadlines.
• Recommend improvements to workflows and cataloging practices.
