Job summary

Stone Coast Fund Services seeks a diligent Fund Accountant to support private equity and hedge fund clients from our Portland, Maine office. You’ll perform NAV preparation, cash and holdings valuations, and investor reporting, contributing to accurate financial statements and timely regulatory deliverables.

Qualifications

• Fund accounting experience in PE or related institutions.
• Familiarity with PE investments and strategies.
• Ability to learn complex concepts quickly.
• Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with portfolio/investor systems (Advent Geneva, WorldInvestora).
• Experience with internal controls and financial reporting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform NAV preparation for Private Equity funds and hedge funds (cash, holdings valuations, accruals).
• Prepare notices for fund events (capital calls, distributions, closes).
• Calculate carried interest; understand waterfall structures and preferred returns.
• Allocate profit/loss and calculate management/performance fees.
• Prepare PE-specific financial statements per regulatory/industry standards.
• Review client documents (PPMs, commitment docs) and lifecycle impacts.
• Process fund expenses and cash wire requests accurately and timely.
• Generate fund/investor reports for managers and investors.
