Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks a Program Specialist VI in the OCC Privacy Division to lead privacy investigations, data analysis, and policy support. The role reports to the Privacy Director and involves cross‑agency coordination, reporting, and training development.

The position is full-time with potential telework eligibility, day shift, and travel up to 5%. A bachelor’s degree and privacy experience are expected, with preferred CIPP/US or CIPM certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; professional privacy experience acceptable.
• Preferred privacy certifications (CIPP/US, CIPM) are a plus.
• Knowledge of federal/state privacy laws (HIPAA, Texas privacy laws).
• Experience with privacy incident investigations and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead or participate in privacy incident response and investigations.
• Research regulatory changes and assess privacy risk and compliance.
• Develop reports and trainings; support policy and procedure reviews.
• Coordinate with partners for notification, remediation, and audits.
