Job summary

VeraSafe, a U.S.-headquartered privacy and cybersecurity compliance firm, seeks an attorney with healthcare and life science experience for a fully remote role. The position emphasizes privacy, data protection, and client-facing advisory work with a robust onboarding program.

Qualifications

• License to practice law (active and in good standing) in your jurisdiction
• At least three years of work experience as an attorney
• An interest in privacy and technology
• Strong writing/editing skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work remotely
• Willingness to learn new skills and receive direction and feedback from partners
• Willingness to pursue privacy certifications (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM)
• Experience in privacy law is a plus
• Contract drafting and negotiation experience is a plus
• IAPP membership or privacy conference involvement is a plus

Responsibilities

• Leading the data protection aspects of a clinical trial from start to finish
• Assessing study protocols for privacy issues
• Reviewing CTAs, ICFs, and privacy policies
• Drafting data protection agreements, addenda, and amendments
• Researching legal issues and composing legal opinions/memoranda
• Writing clinical trials, GCP, and privacy law related articles and blog posts
• Assisting in the development of in-house legal templates
• Contributing to the development of internal procedures and methodologies
• Collaborating with a team of intellectual peers who value cooperation and community
