Job summary

DxTx Pain & Spine is hiring a Prior Authorization Coordinator to verify benefits, review documentation, and obtain authorizations for complex interventional procedures. You’ll collaborate with payors, practices, vendors, and patients to ensure timely approvals.

This full-time role runs Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM CST with remote work options. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in benefits verification and prior authorizations in interventional pain/spine settings.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of prior authorization or benefits verification experience in interventional pain, spine, neurosurgery, orthopedics, or a related specialty.
• Experience verifying benefits and obtaining authorizations for advanced procedures (SCS, PNS, MILD, SI joint fusion).
• Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and commercial payer requirements including LCD/NCD criteria.
• Experience reviewing clinical documentation against payer policies and identifying gaps before submission.
• Experience using payer portals and UM platforms such as Availity, EviCore, Carelon, or Cohere.
• Experience in Pain Management and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for interventional and advanced procedures.
• Obtain prior and retro authorizations within required timelines.
• Collaborate with payors, practices, vendors, patients, and management to secure approvals.
• Review clinical documentation against payer policies and identify missing information.
• Navigate payer portals and utilization management systems.
• Monitor authorization trackers and follow requests through completion.
• Document authorization activity and maintain accurate patient and claim information.
• Identify trends or issues delaying authorizations or claims processing.
