UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Prior-Authorization Specialist to coordinate and facilitate internal and external authorizations for patients. The position is remote in Oregon with training onsite, full-time hours, and potential overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or comparable work experience.
• 1+ year in Medical Prior Authorizations.
• 2+ years in a medical office.
• 1+ year interacting with insurance companies.
• ICD-10 and CPT coding knowledge.
• Proficiency with Outlook and Teams; able to use multiple web apps.
• Proficient in Word and Excel.
• Must be able to be on camera for meetings.
• Full-time availability, Mon-Fri, 8:00am-4:30pm PST; overtime possible.

Responsabilités

• Obtain authorizations for medical procedures before service date.
• Submit documentation to insurance carriers.
• Document authorization details in patient chart.
• Communicate approvals/denials to physicians; assist with appeals.
• Coordinate with scheduling and clinical staff to avoid delays.
• Monitor requests to ensure timely processing.
• Maintain confidentiality and privacy of patient information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
