Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a REMOTE Prior Authorization Specialist to join our team and support payer-required pre-billing activities. You will review medical policies, initiate authorizations, perform benefit investigations, and respond to billing inquiries while collaborating with Sales, Operations, Billing, Laboratory teams, payers, and patients to ensure timely reimbursements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Labcorp training including Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology, plus passing assessment.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Preferred Associate degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a healthcare-related field.
• Experience in clinical laboratory revenue cycle management and prior authorization, reimbursement, or billing.
• Experience using Word, Excel, and Outlook in healthcare reimbursement or billing.

Responsibilities

• Review orders to verify completeness for prior authorization submissions.
• Initiate and manage prior authorization requests per payer policies.
• Coordinate with vendors, payers, and providers to obtain authorizations.
• Track status of requests and follow up to ensure timely determinations.
• Respond to billing inquiries via phone, email, chat, or portal.
• Maintain accurate authorization records and data in systems.
