Job summary

Elevance Health is seeking a Prior Authorization Pharmacy Technician II in Mason, OH. The role offers a largely virtual schedule with required in-person training sessions; some offices within commuting distance may be considered. Shifts vary 8 AM–8 PM EST, with remote work options as described.

The technician interprets and enters data for prescriptions, processes prior authorizations, troubleshoots adjudication issues, and maintains comprehensive records to support pharmacists and providers.

Qualifications

• Requires active license as a Pharmacy Technician where required by state law.
• HS diploma or equivalent and minimum of 2 years of pharmacy experience.
• URAC areas require strong communication, problem-solving, facilitation, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Verify member information and input data for pharmacists.
• Educate members on pharmacy rules related to prescriptions and assistance programs.
• Process prior authorization requests from physicians and ensure Medicare compliance; inform relevant parties of determinations.
• Provide resolution to grievances and appeals.
• Respond to inquiries from physicians, sales team, and members about formulary and prescription benefits.
• Maintain records of prior authorizations, rebates, and monthly reports.
