Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a part-time Remote Prior Authorization Specialist to coordinate insurance verification and eligibility, process pre-authorizations, and support clinicians in the payment clearance process. You will collaborate with patients, providers, and payers to ensure timely access to care while maintaining compliance with policies.

Qualifications

• Experience with insurance verification and coordination of prior authorizations.
• Familiarity with Epic or similar health information systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize incoming Prior Authorization requests and process them per policy.
• Coordinate referrals and pre-certifications with clinical teams and payers.
• Verify member eligibility and complete necessary documentation in the system.
• Answer provider and department calls and route to appropriate staff.
• Maintain knowledge of payer requirements and document approvals in Epic.
• Promote understanding of authorization requirements to members and providers.
