Job summary

RemoteLeads seeks a detail-oriented print production specialist to manage preflight, prepress, and image handling for a university magazine issue. You will create InDesign layouts, templates, ad pages, and issue maps, while coordinating with Quad and the Design Director. Applicants should have 2+ years in magazine production, strong prepress knowledge, and a robust portfolio.

Qualifications

• 2+ years print production experience
• Strong understanding of prepress and print industry standards
• Portfolio demonstrating proficient understanding of print media
• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure
• Availability from late June through late August 2026 with weekly virtual meetings
• Flexibility for evening and weekend work during production
• Remote work within the United States coordinating with Pacific Time

Responsibilities

• Manage preflight and prepress processes for advertisements, inserts, and editorial content.
• Create InDesign layouts, templates, ad pages, insert pages, and issue maps.
• Organize ad/inset files in Google Drive and maintain production files on the server.
• Flow final editorial copy and circulate layouts and proofs for team approval.
• Process images, place final assets in InDesign files, and upload materials to Quad.
• Serve as the primary production contact between the Design Director and Quad.
• Upload press-ready PDFs and create web-ready text files and issue PDFs.
• Assist with image research and perform other assigned production duties.
