somewhere is seeking a part-time Graphic Designer focused on publication layout using Adobe InDesign. You’ll drive the production of magazines and visitor guides, layout editorial pages, and ensure ads meet exact specs in complex publications.

The role requires a strong portfolio, meticulous typography, print production expertise, and an AI-first mindset to speed tasks while maintaining quality. Remote work with overlap to US Pacific Time is required.

Qualifications

• Strong Adobe InDesign skills, especially for long, multi-page publications.
• Portfolio that includes magazine, catalog, visitor guide, or other publication layout work.
• Experience designing print ads to spec from client instructions.
• Strong attention to typography, grids, image placement, and print production.
• An AI-first mindset: use AI tools to work faster without cutting corners.
• Reliability and ability to meet deadlines and track hours accurately.
• Availability for at least 4 hours of overlap with US Pacific Time.
• Good written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Publication layout: lay out complex print publications of 100+ pages in InDesign.
• Place editorial content, headlines, and photos into clean layouts.
• Manage ad placement across each publication to fit right size and spot.
• Prepare files that are print-ready and meet production standards.
• Ad design: create print ads to spec, following client instructions.
• Revise ads based on client and team feedback quickly and accurately.
• Production and traffic management: track progress, approvals, and deadlines.
• Coordinate with the team during Pacific Time working hours.
• Work smarter: use AI tools to speed up repetitive tasks while preserving quality.
• Suggest improvements to the production workflow.
