Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Tax Senior Analyst to ensure the quality and accuracy of routine tax assignments and special projects across the organization. You will review tax provisions, returns, and supporting documentation, focusing on ASC 740 compliance and documentation quality.

You will mentor junior staff, develop internal tax controls, and perform research on proposed legislation. The role allows office-based or remote work with strong collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• 7 years of progressive tax experience with QA/supervisory exposure.
• CPA preferred and knowledge of ASC 740.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality and accuracy of tax assignments and variances.
• Lead QA reviews of tax work on significant transactions.
• Identify and mitigate tax risks of transactions.
• Provide guidance and training to junior tax staff.
• Develop and maintain internal tax procedures and controls.
• Perform tax research on special projects and legislation.
• Advise on tax effects of proposed transactions.
• Prepare memoranda and audit-ready documentation for tax positions.
• Review third-party opinions and defend positions during audits.
• Other duties as assigned.
