Job summary

Magellan Health is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to act as an expert technical resource, guiding management, clients, and staff through major IT development efforts. You will lead design, architecture, and DevOps practices, mentor teams, and drive modern software delivery in AWS.

Responsibilities include creating scalable applications, applying design thinking, and advancing CI/CD, testing approaches, and open-source contributions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of related experience, including at least 3+ years designing, building, and maintaining high-quality, secure software.
• Proficient in agile, DevOps, and cloud-based development.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop guidelines for software engineers to build scalable, stable, and secure code.
• Write and maintain high-quality code; assist with problem solving and debugging.
• Lead agile software development efforts as a Technical Leader and coach peers on TDD, ATDD, and pair programming.
• Guide team on containers, micro-services, CI/CD, and DevOps environments.
