Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Chief Software Engineer to lead enterprise-wide architectural initiatives and set long-term technology strategy. This role requires deep expertise in system design, performance engineering, and cross-organizational technical leadership.

The ideal candidate will drive architectural decisions, mentor Staff and Senior Engineers, and partner with executives on the technology roadmap while delivering highly scalable, resilient distributed systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
Ten or more years of professional software engineering experience.
Proven expertise designing distributed, high-scale systems in production.
Advanced proficiency in Java, Go, C++, or similar backend languages.
Deep understanding of data modeling, system optimization, and performance tuning.
Experience leading cross-team technical initiatives across multiple business units.
Strong expertise in reliability engineering and distributed architectures.
Demonstrated leadership in architectural decision-making at enterprise scale.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Track record of mentoring senior engineers and shaping engineering culture.

Responsibilities

Define enterprise-level architectural standards and guardrails across units.
Lead design and implementation of scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
Architect multi-region, globally distributed platforms with availability and disaster recovery.
Drive modernization initiatives including microservices transformation and platform consolidation.
Define API governance, data architecture, and service communication patterns.
Design systems for extreme scalability, availability, and security with capacity planning.
Evaluate and select high-performance data storage solutions for workloads.
Lead reliability engineering and incident response improvements.
Conduct architectural reviews and performance audits across platforms.
Guide teams on concurrency, observability, and optimization strategies.
Design observability frameworks with standardized metrics, logs, and traces.
Define DevOps, CI/CD, and automation strategy across teams.
Partner with leadership on technology roadmap decisions.
Mentor Staff and Senior Engineers and contribute to talent growth.
Drive innovation and evaluate emerging technologies for strategic adoption.
Lead resolution of critical production issues requiring deep architectural insight.
