Job summary

Zillow's Agentic AI team seeks a Principal Machine Learning Engineer to design and deploy multimodal agentic experiences at scale. You will work on Voice AI, robust evaluation, and safety guardrails while bridging research and engineering across multiple teams.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s degree with 5+ years of deploying large-scale ML models, and have hands-on experience with agent-based systems and production ML infrastructure. Equity opportunities are available.

Qualifications

Master’s degree or above in CS, EE, or related field with emphasis on frontier multimodal LLMs.
5+ years deploying large-scale ML models; 2–3 years building agent-based systems.
Experience developing engaging dialogue systems for long conversations.
Experience building AI services handling hundreds of millions of daily interactions.
Familiarity with LangGraph, Agents SDK and AutoGen frameworks.
Track record of articles, patents or high-impact research is a plus.
Strong communication to influence across teams and leadership.

Responsibilities

Develop large-scale, fault-tolerant multimodal agentic experiences reaching millions.
Design agent interaction modes, including Voice AI and Deep Research.
Pioneer evaluation frameworks, tracing systems, and safety guardrails.
Bridge research and scalable engineering across multi-team initiatives.
