Zillow Group's Agentic AI team is seeking a Principal Machine Learning Engineer to own the architecture of agent memory, manage how memories are written, retrieved, updated, and retired, and lead end-to-end agent development in production. You will drive context engineering, orchestration of agents, and evaluation frameworks, while staying at the frontier of long-context models and memory architectures.

This remote role supports U.S.-based candidates with a competitive base salary and equity

Qualificações

• Master's degree or higher in CS/EE or related field.
• 5+ years deploying large-scale ML systems, incl. latest year shipping LLM-based agents.
• Hands-on experience building agents end-to-end: orchestration, prompt engineering, context engineering.
• Experience evaluating agentic systems and using results to improve them.
• Proven technical leadership with ability to influence direction and mentor others.
• Strong programming in Python and familiarity with LangGraph, Agents SDK, AutoGen.

Responsabilidades

• Own the architecture of agent memory across conversations, including write/read/update/retire.
• Lead context engineering for production agents: assembling, prioritizing, and compressing context from history, memory, tools, and skills.
• Build and orchestrate agents end to end from prompt/context design to deployment and operation in production.
• Define evaluation frameworks for memory and context quality, offline and online, to drive product decisions.
• Stay on the cutting edge of agentic paradigms and translate them into product innovation.
• Lead complex, multi-team initiatives and communicate technical direction to engineers, partners, and leadership.
