Job summary

Zillow Group Inc. is seeking an experienced ML leader to own the architecture of agent memory and to steer context engineering for production agents.

You will orchestrate end-to-end agent development, from prompts and context design to deployment and operation in a production environment. You’ll define robust evaluation frameworks for memory quality and context relevance, leveraging state-of-the-art memory architectures and long-context techniques.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in CS/EE or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years deploying large-scale ML systems, incl. recent year building and shipping LLm-based agents in production.
• Hands-on experience building agents end to end: orchestration, prompt engineering, context engineering.
• Experience evaluating agentic systems and applying results to improvement.
• Proven technical leadership across teams and mentoring engineers.
• Strong communication for senior leadership presentations.
• Strong Python programming skills; familiarity with agentic AI frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture of agent memory across conversations, memories write/retrieve/update/retire.
• Lead context engineering for production agents: assemble, prioritize, compress context from history, memory, tools, and skills.
• Build and orchestrate agents end to end from prompt/design to deployment and operation in production.
• Define evaluation frameworks for memory and context quality (offline/online) to drive decisions.
• Stay at the cutting edge of agentic paradigms and translate into product innovations.
• Lead complex, multi-team initiatives and communicate technical direction clearly to engineers and leadership.
