Job summary

DIRECTV is seeking a Principal IT Software Engineer 1 to set architectural direction and drive end-to-end design across multiple teams. You’ll shape technical strategy for CX orchestration platforms, powered by AWS, Genesys Cloud, and Salesforce, with high autonomy and leadership visibility.

You’ll mentor engineers, lead architectural reviews, own multi-PI roadmaps, and collaborate with executive leadership on platform direction and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree a plus.
• 3–5 years in senior/lead technical roles with CCaaS/CX/Field Services experience.
• Experience with CRM integrations, especially Salesforce.

Responsibilities

• Architect complex cross-system solutions, manage dependencies and technical debt.
• Set architectural standards and best practices across the org.
• Lead data pathways and integration with CRM, AI platforms, and APIs.
• Lead architectural reviews and governance forums to align with enterprise strategy.
• Drive multi-quarter roadmaps translating business strategy into engineering initiatives.
• Serve as primary escalation point for high-risk problems.
• Mentor senior engineers and tech leads to strengthen decision-making and craftsmanship.
• Promote engineering excellence through tooling, standards, and quality processes.
• Identify systemic risks and partner with leadership on mitigation and prioritization.
• Represent engineering in cross-functional strategic discussions shaping product direction.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and advise on adoption affecting the roadmap.
• Lead technical due diligence for major initiatives and platform migrations.
• Drive resolution of critical production issues requiring deep system knowledge.
