Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Senior Software Developer focused on frontend engineering for government-grade applications. You will lead architecture, build modern, accessible web interfaces, and mentor teams while shaping tooling and pipelines to improve performance and quality.

The role emphasizes React/Angular development, design systems, and a strong focus on WCAG accessibility and Section 508 compliance.

Qualifications

Proven track record leading frontend applications at scale.
Experience architecting frontend systems with React and/or Angular.
Established standards, practices, and tooling to boost productivity and code quality.
Familiar with frontend build tooling and deployment pipelines (Webpack, Vite, npm, etc.).
Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA and accessibility automation in CI/CD.
Experience with unit, component, and end-to-end testing (Playwright, Cypress, etc.).
Experience with design systems, component libraries, and cross-app consistency.

Responsibilities

Define and drive frontend engineering strategy, tooling, and skills.
Lead development of accessible, performant web apps for government customers.
Act as technical authority for frontend architecture and excellence.
Design and implement modern frontend architectures, pipelines, and deployment infra.
Deliver features with focus on UX and accessibility compliance (Section 508, WCAG).
Collaborate with product managers to balance UX with implementation effort.
Build and maintain component libraries and design systems for velocity.
Modernize frontend stack and improve developer experience and quality.
Establish frontend best practices including mobile-first development and testing.
