Job summary

Workiva Inc. is seeking a Principal Enterprise Architect to design and implement the core architectural framework for a $1B+ public software company.

You will partner with business technology, data, and security leaders to establish standards and roadmaps while maturing the EA function. The role starts as an individual contributor with a path to lead an EA team, focusing on enterprise AI initiatives, security, governance, and integration across ERP, CRM, and data platforms.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years in progressively senior IT/technology roles with degree (8+ years with advanced degree) and 5+ years in architecture leadership.
• Experience building or maturing Enterprise Architecture in mid-size or high-growth environments.
• Direct experience architecting AI/ML integration into enterprise systems and data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement the Enterprise Architecture operating model, principles, governance, and pragmatic standards.
• Develop architecture roadmaps and reference architectures across business systems and data platforms.
• Define AI architecture strategy, model integration patterns, and platform buildouts for enterprise AI initiatives.
• Lead data architecture standards, API frameworks, and portfolio rationalization to reduce debt and duplication.
