Job summary

Workiva Inc. is seeking a Principal Enterprise Architect to design and implement an enterprise architecture framework aligned with AI initiatives. You will partner with business technology, data, and security leaders to establish standards and oversee a multi‑year roadmap.

This is a builder role with eventual team leadership as the function matures. You’ll drive architecture governance, data standards, and cross‑functional collaboration, reporting to the CIO of a $1B+ public software company and

Qualifications

• 10+ years in senior IT/technology roles with degree
• 8+ years with an advanced degree
• 5+ years in enterprise/solutions architecture or leadership
• Experience building or maturing an EA function
• Knowledge of ERP/CRM/financial systems and data architecture
• Experience integrating AI/ML into enterprise systems
• Understanding of AI security, privacy, governance
• Strong cloud architecture and modern data platforms knowledge

Responsibilities

• Define and implement the EA operating model and governance
• Develop architecture standards, roadmaps, and reference architectures
• Lead AI architecture strategy and platform decisions
• Define data architecture standards and API integration
• Rationalize application portfolio and reduce technical debt
• Influence executives and build consensus without direct authority
• Plan hiring and mentoring of future architects
