Eliassen Group is seeking a hands-on Principal Engineer for a remote contract-to-hire role to shape the onboarding platform, drive architectural decisions, and lead AI-driven innovation. The role requires daily coding and collaboration with product, customer success, and sales teams to embed AI capabilities across the platform.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience in production SaaS
• Experience in staff/principal or equivalent leadership roles
• Strong architectural design experience in cloud-native environments
• Ability to influence technical direction across teams and stakeholders
• Experience partnering with product and business stakeholders to drive outcomes

Responsibilities

• Define and drive architectural direction across the platform.
• Make strategic technical decisions influencing scalability, reliability, and security.
• Guide platform evolution balancing speed and maintainability.
• Write production code daily and contribute to feature development.
• Design, build, and support scalable SaaS applications.
• Lead implementation for complex customer and platform initiatives.
• Provide technical mentorship and participate in reviews.
• Define and implement AI strategy and AI-powered capabilities.
• Develop proofs of concept for customer-facing AI use cases.
• Architect solutions for customer-managed AI including BYOM/BYOK.
