Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a hands-on Principal Engineer for a remote contract-to-hire role. You will shape the onboarding platform, drive architectural decisions, and lead AI-powered capabilities across the system. Work closely with Engineering, Product, Customer Success, and Sales to deliver high-impact solutions.

This role requires influencing product strategy, owning platform evolution, and mentoring a small team. Remote work with clients across the US and travel as needed is possible.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience in production SaaS.
• Leadership in staff/principal/lead roles or similar.
• Strong cloud-native architecture experience.
• Ability to influence technical direction across teams.
• Experience partnering with product and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive architectural direction across the platform.
• Write production code daily and contribute to feature development.
• Design, build, and support scalable SaaS applications.
• Lead implementation for complex customer and platform initiatives.
• Mentor engineers and participate in design reviews.
• Define and implement AI strategy and AI-powered capabilities.
