Job summary

Reddit, Inc. is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to shape the User Ecosystem analytics at scale from a remote US location. You will define measurement, modeling, and experimentation strategies for consumer questions around how users discover value, form habits, and engage with content and communities.

You will lead modeling across user representations, content ecosystems, and causal inference, partnering with Product, Engineering, and Research to drive durable impact for Reddit's user base.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in at least one consumer science domain.
• Ability to model systems involving users, content, communities, and feedback loops.
• Ability to frame ambiguous questions and translate evidence into action.
• Strong judgment on model design, validation, and production tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Set the scientific direction for high-impact Consumer problems across discovery, relevance, personalization, user growth, retention, content, and communities.
• Build durable understanding of users, their intent, needs, and behaviors that drive long-term value.
• Develop models/ frameworks representing users, content, communities, and relationships over time for scalable systems.
• Measure consumer and ecosystem health when objectives compete and short-term metrics may diverge from long-term value.
• Set learning agendas and steer experimentation to distinguish durable improvement from temporary metric movement.
• Build state-of-the-art measurement systems for heterogeneous effects across user personas and cohorts.
